
The number of dengue cases continues to rise in Rawalpindi, with the Health Department confirming 1,106 positive cases so far this year.
According to the latest report issued by the District Health Authority Rawalpindi, 13 new patients were reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 16,993 tests have been conducted across the district, while 56 dengue patients are currently under treatment in various hospitals. No deaths related to the virus have been reported so far.
The report stated that the anti-dengue campaign is actively underway. Health teams have inspected over 5.8 million houses since the start of 2025, discovering dengue larvae in 184,552 residences. Moreover, 1,629,641 potential breeding sites were checked, and larvae were found at 25,343 locations. During the campaign, 209,895 larvae were destroyed.
Authorities have also taken strict action against violations of dengue prevention SOPs, registering 4,572 FIRs, sealing 1,568 premises, and issuing 3,557 challans. Fines totalling over Rs 11 million have been imposed on violators.
The district administration has urged citizens to cooperate with health teams, avoid water stagnation, and adopt precautionary measures to curb the spread of dengue in the city.
